It's no secret: the people working as part of the team for the Brussels Film Festival are the biggest fans of European films. So the fact that they are so interested in Polish films shouldn't come as a surprise. This year, once again, the festival organisers will devote an evening to Poland. This POLISH EVENING will take place on Thursday 19 April at White Cinema at Docks Bruxsel. The film, Tower. A bright day (Wieża. Jasny Dzień) by Jagoda SZELC, the first promising film from a young promising director, will be given its Belgian premiere there.

Tower. A Bright Day (Poland, 2017, 106 min, original version with subtitles in EN)
Mula lives in the countryside with her family. Just before her daughter makes her first communion, her sister Kaja returns to the family home for the first time in years. The family believes the two sisters will reconcile, but Mula has reason to be afraid of Kaja. At the same time, the whole village is experiencing strange metaphysical events, which are taking their toll on the inhabitants. Mula's fear grows with time, to such an extent that she wants her sister to leave the house as soon as possible. But, as it turns out, Kaja has her reasons for coming back...
